MIRA: CHILDREN BOOK

In 2017 I graduated with 'Mira! Mama is zwanger', a children's book about Mira,
a sweet little girl from a multicultural family. 

It was important for me to make a story about a brown girl because I never felt represented
when I was younger and I didn't want other children to feel the same way as I did.

Not everyone is represented enough in the arts and mainstream media in Belgium, especially in children books.
The impact of representation starts young and it can ripple out through the rest of our lives.

My book has currently been purchased by four Belgian libraries and it was also included in their permanent collection.
